Staff Accountant - AR Specialist
About the Job
Reporting to the Corporate Accounting Manager, this position has the responsibility for the cash cycle. This encompasses monitoring all cash activities and resolving problems as they occur, ensuring that all payments are deposited on a timely basis, and reviewing the AR aging on an ongoing basis. This individual will also be responsible for all bank reconciliations and journal entries associated with banking.
The ideal candidate for this position has a strong background in corporate accounting with exposure to Accounts Receivable, advanced use of Excel, and a desire to advance their accounting career.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for the maintenance and management of the Cash Cycle. Reviews, investigates, and dispositions differences between internal systems and the Company’s bank accounts.
- Monitors data file interface to Lawson (Accounting Software) to ensure integrity of accounting data.
- Compiles and analyzes Cash information in order to prepare entries to accounts.
- Reconciliation of all cash accounts timely.
- Prepares and posts month-end journal entries related to the Cash Cycle.
- Performs statistical analysis to determine trends, estimates, and significant changes, as assigned.
- Submits recommendations for improving the organization's accounting operation.
- Other duties as assigned, such as fixed asset accounting and annual audit support.
Education and/or Experience
- BA/BS degree with emphasis in accounting and/or business administration.
- One to two years related corporate accounting experience.
- Excellent computer skills and advanced use of Excel.
- Ability to multi-task and work in a deadline driven, fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal, teamwork, and communication skills.
