Madrid, Spain & Dublin, Ire — January 7, 2009 — Vodafone Spain and Vesta Corporation, a pioneer and global leader in virtual payment solutions, have partnered to create an automated recharge service. Utilizing a customer-created PIN, the new service provides the fastest way for Vodafone Spain’s close to 7 million prepaid customers to recharge using a credit or debit card.
Once the PIN is created, customers will have the option to recharge using an automated voice response service (IVR), the My.Vodafone.es online portal, or by sending an SMS to Vodafone. Customers will be able to complete a recharge transaction start to finish in a matter of seconds. Vesta’s proprietary technology handles the recharge requests, validates customers’ payments, and quickly adds credit to customers’ accounts.
In addition to enabling this new capability for Vodafone Spain customers, Vesta offers the operator full indemnification from transaction fraud and manages all operations surrounding virtual recharges.
